Robins is a part of the Cedar Rapids Metro Area, which is the second largest population center in the State of Iowa. The area is known for outstanding K-12 schools and colleges and universities. The area is also known for outstanding medical services, research institutions, aerospace industries, financial services, manufacturing, agricultural and food processing companies.

Population

Robins has seen its population increase by 83 percent since 2000 and has grown faster than 98 percent of similar sized cities in Iowa. Approximately 3,500 residents live in Robins, which is located on the north edge of the Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Metro Area. Our quaint and quiet community offers excellent quality of life, outstanding recreational opportunities, and exceptional schools. We’re a great place for families, young professionals and retirees.

Convenience

With an average commute of approximately 17 minutes, it is easy and convenient for residents to get to work. Robins is adjacent to Interstate 380, the north-south highway through Eastern Iowa. It is within 25 minutes of Interstate 80, the east-west interstate through Iowa. Robins is served by the Eastern Iowa Airport, 15 minutes south of Robins on Interstate 380.

Robins Roundup

Every year, during the 2nd weekend in June, the Robins Civic Club hosts the Robins Roundup, a family friendly community event featuring a Kids Zone, delicious food and live music. Education

Robins residents value education. About 96 percent of Robins residents have a high school diploma or higher; 36 percent have a Bachelor or higher degree; and 10 percent have a Graduate or professional degree.

Robins was recently named the most affluent town in Iowa by the American Community Survey while at the same time maintaining the lowest property taxes in the Cedar Rapids Metro Area ($7.71 per $1,000 assessed valuation). The median home valuation is $323,200. Approximately 75 percent of Robins’ households have an annual income ranging from $75,000 to $200,000+.
